The Hilo Bay Watershed Advisory Group presents a Candidates Forum for those running for seats on the County Council, Districts 1 through 5 (those districts in and affecting the Hilo Bay Watershed).  The public is invited to attend.  The forum will take place on Thursday, July 31, at Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale in Hilo from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.

Following a panel presentation by five experts on various aspects of the watershed, the candidates will circulate between four tables staffed by the panelists.  At the tables, they will discuss in detail issues raised by the panelists in their presentations.  Following the table discussions, each candidate will address the group on what he or she has learned from the discussions, and his or her ideas on watershed issues.

Eleven candidates have said they will attend.

Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale is located at the Hilo Civic Center on Pi‘ilani between Manono and Kalanikoa.
