From Hamakua: at the first traffic light as you enter Hilo turn Right onto Waianuenue Street. Go approximately 1 mile and turn Left onto Komohana Street. Continue on Komohana approximately 1.4 miles and turn Right at Nowelo Street (across from the Imiloa Astronomy Center). Go to end of Nowelo St. and turn Left into parking lot at the sign Institute of Pacific Island Forestry.
From Saddle Road: driving down the Saddle Road to Hilo stay on the widened & newly paved road until you come to the Komohana Street intersection. Turn Left at Komohana St. Go approximately 4/10th of a mile and turn left at Nowelo Street (across from the Imiloa Astronomy Center). Go to end of Nowelo St. and turn Left into parking lot at the sign Institute of Pacific Island Forestry.
From Keaau, Pahoa & Volcano: as you approach Hilo turn Left at Puainako Street and go up Puainako St. approx 1.6 miles to the Komohana Street intersection. Turn Right at Komohana Street and go approx 4/10 mile; turn Left at Nowelo Street (across from the Imiloa Astronomy Center) and turn left into parking lot at the sign Institute of Pacific Island Forestry.
