Virginia's presentation will take a look at the Division of Forestry & Wildlife’s Na Ala Hele project, Kaulana Manu. It will discuss the unique beauty and rarity of the kipuka and the plants and native birds inside, as well as talk about what exciting volunteer based programs that are currently underway.
After graduating from the University of Hawai’i Hilo with a degree in Geology, Virginia developed an interest in Hawaiian native forests while working as an interpretive ranger at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. She later joined the Division of Forestry & Wildlife Na Ala Hele-Trails & Access team and has been the Kaulana Manu- Native Bird & Plant Sanctuary Coordinator ever since.
