HBWAG Launches New Web Site!
The HBWAG launches its new web site after five months of work.
The Hilo Bay Watershed Advisory Group (HBWAG) received funding to develop a web site to facilitate internal and community networking and offer educational outreach programs, a 2007 top priority for the HBWAG Steering Committee.
The HBWAG focuses on the Hilo Bay Watershed but is aware that all watersheds share common issues and challenges. For this reason, and to foster cooperation and collaboration, the HBWAG web site welcomes linkage with groups and agencies sharing common interests and goals on the Big Island and throughout the State of Hawaii.
The Hawaii County Department of Planning received the approved Coastal Zone Management (CZM) funds for the web site project and contracted with the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council (BIRC&D), a 501(c)3 not for profit, to act as the fiscal sponsor for the HBWAG web site project. Stacy K. Higa, on behalf of Hawai'i County Council District 4, provided additional funding through the District 4 Council Contingency Relief Fund.
